United States of America (Press Release) February 2nd, 2008 -- Seattle, WA. February 2nd, 2008 -
The iPhoneGizmo.com blog has challenged the value of the recently released Apple movie rental scheme announced at Macworld in January! According to them "The iPhone movie deal is a steal - from us!!"
The main problem, they argue convincingly, is that rentals have to be paid for each time a movie is watched and - at $3 to $4 for each viewing - this quickly become a very expensive way to watch movies on our iPhones.
iPhoneGizmo points to a little-known but powerful iPhone download site where members get to download AND KEEP any movie they want to watch - virtually for free. And they can then keep on watching the movie any time they want to - for free.
This would be a real challenge to Apple - if this download site were as well known as Apple (its the best kept iPhone downloads secret out there)! But, of course, as the recent Macworld demonstrated so well, Apple are master promoters. Apple profits are likely to soar as innocent iPhone users flock to Apple rentals not realizing there is a cheaper and better option already available.
You can find details of this "secret" site in the iPhoneGizmo blog post for January 2008: "iPhone movie deal not the real deal!"
